What becomes a task
Messages you react to with the emoji you choose, or items from your Slack Lists, in one workspace.
Connect it
- Choose Add connection in the sidebar, find Slack, and choose Connect.
- Next to Connected account, choose Connect and sign in.
- Set the options below and an age limit, then choose Save.
For Slack:
- A workspace admin may need to approve the OneTaskList app before you can connect.

Settings
- Import
- Messages I react to with chosen emoji, or Items from Slack Lists (paid workspaces).
- Reactions
- The emoji that turn a message into a task. Choose at least one.
- Channel
- Only load messages from these channels. Leave empty for all.
- Messages that only share a file
- Also load messages that are just a shared file.
- Slack Lists
- Paste a List’s link or ID to load its items.
- Only items assigned to me
- Only load items assigned to you.
When you finish a task
Your reaction is removed from the message. A Slack List item is ticked.
Good to know
- To use a different workspace, delete this connection and add a new one.
- Connections made before October 2026 need signing in again: open the connection and choose Change account.
